About Faithful Home School

Amy Wickstrom, PhD, lives in the mountains of North Georgia, where she homeschools her six children alongside her husband of twenty-five years. Their lively family includes a horse, a bunny, goats, chickens, a few Great Pyrenees dogs, and one very independent barn cat. On any given day, you might find her in the basement wrestling another mountain of laundry, pondering the eternal mystery of “what’s for dinner tonight?” or secretly hoping the dishes in the sink will magically vanish overnight—because tomorrow morning, it’s time to start homeschooling all over again.

In the Homeschool Declaration Series, Amy draws from over a decade of real-life homeschooling—messy mornings, hard days, and countless moments of grace—to offer warm, practical encouragement rooted in Scripture. With humility and faith, she invites fellow homeschool mamas to speak God’s living Word over their homes, children, and journeys, trusting that He is faithful to shift circumstances into alignment with His promises.

In her professional life—which sometimes feels light-years away amid the overwhelming adventure of parenting and homeschooling six children—Amy is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over a decade of private practice experience. She has published on play therapy and child development, taught graduate courses in Southern California, and served as Social Welfare Director for Children of the Nations, supporting orphans internationally. Amy has frequently spoken on parenting and family topics, served as a radio “family expert,” and appeared on NBC News. In the wake of Covid, she founded a K-8 homeschool hybrid program at her church that continues to serve families today. Amy earned her MA at Bethel Seminary and her PhD at Loma Linda University in California.
