Pulling Weeds

Living out faith is not always = easy route.  In Luke 7:28 Jesus regards John the Baptist as the greatest ever born to women.  And in Luke 3:18-20 we see where John made the bold decision to stand up against wrongs and injustices... and it cost him his head.

Both John and Jesus called the pharisees out  "You Brood of Vipers!"

Both spoke honestly when asked "How should we live".

Living out ones faith requires honesty when answering questions... even if the answer convicts.  It also requires honestly evaluating ourselves when our lives don't aline with God's design laid out in His Word.

Living out ones faith takes boldness and an acceptance to the hard reality that we may be burned at the steak because our views are no longer of this world... and the world does not understand that.

Living out ones faith requires work.  Work to study and be equipped with the Word; to be able to discern Truth and right and well.... and work to pull weeds when the garden is overrun.  God's Word helps us know the difference between a dandelion and a daisy; both are pretty but one will choke out all that is good.

No one said it would be easy.  But when we do all things through prayer and love and in response to His leading on our lives... all things will bring him glory.  Whether here or in the here-after.

"If the world hates you, be aware that it hated me before it hated you. If you belonged to the world, the world would love you as its own. Because you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world—therefore the world hates you.
- John 15:18-19

Be blessed in the difficult places this week... to know He is with you, even when the world puts you down.
